Article Processing Charge (APC) support information
Kyushu University and the following publishers have concluded transformative agreements for e-journal subscriptions and Open Access publication of articles. Authors will be able to publish their articles in OA with only 30% of the Article Processing Charge (APC) because of the university supports. Please note that in the case of either publisher, the corresponding author who handles the publication process must be affiliated with Kyushu University.(As of February 2024)

Article Processing Charge (APC) discount information
When submitting an article to a journal, in order to make the article open access, there is mostly an expense called an Article Processing Charge (APC). Members of the University (faculty / students) can receive discounts on the publication of open access articles in the following journals (as of February 2024).
The library does not compile discounts, so please check the websites of the following journals for details. In addition to these, there are many academic societies with discounts for individual members. For details, check the website of each academic society.

Since Kyushu University has a Read & Publish agreement with Rockefeller University Press, APCs are waived for those affiliated with the University who submit as a Corresponding Author and publish their articles as Open Access. Rockefeller University Press has two publication types: Gold OA (APC USD 5,300), which is open access immediately after publication, and Green OA (APC USD 2,000), which is open access six months later. All articles published with an APC exemption are Gold OA. |
