How to Use Our Libraries
Who Can Use Our Libraries?
The following visitors can use our libraries, including Kyushu University alumni and non-public entity staff: those who need our library materials for academic research, investigation, or study. We do not allow visitors to use the seats just for resting and studying with your own book. In addition, we may give priority to Kyushu University students and restrict visitors' access to our libraries during Kyushu University's examination periods and other peak times.
Admittance
Fill in an entering form at the circulation desk.
Also show your ID document (Individual Number Card , passport, residence card, etc.)
For Further User-Privileges
For those who would like to receive continuing library services, please register and make your library ID at the circulation desk.
If your purpose is occupying seats for self-study, preparing exams and language tests, or reading other than researching with library holdings, your apply will not be accepted.
Medical library issues library ID only for those who are alumni of the Hospital Campus and medical professionals within Fukuoka Prefecture.

※Processing time is 1 week. Come to the applied library to pick up your library ID card after receiving a notification of issue.
※Submitting by e-mail, send the documents attached.to the following address.
※Renew your privilege at the library your library ID issued.
NOTES
The Kyushu University Library offers library services to individuals who are studying or researching academic area as well as faculty and students in higher education are seeking. Please describe your research area in the request form.
The user ID is valid for a year. You may renew your expiration date. (Applying by mailing is not accepted)
Show your official ID document when receiving your library ID card.
Let us know immediately when your address information is changed and your Library ID is lost.
Entering and Leaving
Present your ID card at the gate in the entrance.
[Patrons with disabilities] Call our staff if you need help.
Leaving with library materials that are not checked out, the gate at entrance blocks your way with alarm bell and we inspect all belongings you are carrying with. We appreciate your cooperation.
The following items may cause the alarm works.
- Items borrowed at other libraries (including ILL-requested items)
- Rented CDs and DVDs
- Cell phones
- Portable music players
