Shigeru Takagi, the first professor of the Department of Urology, Faculty of Medicine, collected old Japanese and Chinese medical books in the market, which were formerly owned by Inokichi Kubo (1874-1939), the first professor of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology.

The collection includes 56 books of three generations of Nagasaki doctors, microscopes, monme scales, glass mortars and pestles, balances, etc. donated by Akira Nagasaki, graduate of Kyushu University School of Medicine, assistant professor of pediatric surgery, part-time lecturer of medicine) around 1998, and the materials except Japanese books were registered as "Nagasaki Collection" in FY2016. The collection includes lecture transcripts by the first professor of the Department of Pediatrics, Ito Yukihiko, and lecture notes of Nippon Medical School in the 1935's. Japanese books will be added to the catalog in due course.
