概要 | The pre-existence of minute cavities in materials being assumed, there is a possibility of the tensile rupture in materials under thrust. This view applied to see whether the rupture on a cross sectio...n of bars under surrounding pressure-shortly Voigt-Bridgman's. effect-can be explained leads to the negative result. By way of studying the condition of the tensile, rupture, that of the plastic deformation was considered, as well, to interpret the Kármán's experiments on the deformation of sheathed specimens. That the aforesaid effect is inexplicable by the condition of the tensile rupture is considered, referring to the experiments on sheathed specimens, to originate from the condition. that the pressure-medium might, contrary to the assumption made tacitly, likely get into. cavities on the surface and probably also to some extent into those in the inferior, of bare specimens. When bare specimens—as in the Voigt's experiments-exposed to pressure, the uniform compressive stress may rule over the inside and outside of cavities, where a tensile Joad simultaneously applied gives rise to the stress-concentration. This tensile stress superposed on the compressive stress is sufficient under a certain condition to cause rupture.続きを見る |
