The Design Library held its grand opening on June 29, 2023.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at 11:00 a.m. in the Reading Hall on the first floor of the Design Library, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Akira Omoto, Dean of the Faculty of Design, RinichiroTaniguchi, Director General of the Kyushu University Library, Hisayashu Ihara, Director of the Design Library, Tomoaki Fuji, Director of the Information Infrastructure Office at the Design Infrastructure Center, and Naoto Sueda, 3rd-year undergraduate student of the School of Design. The grand opening ceremony was held after the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Although it unfortunately rained on the day, the ceremony was attended by 147 people from inside and outside Kyushu University.

In conjunction with the grand opening, the Visual & Audio Lounge is currently hosting an exhibition by Associate Professor Yutaka Makino of the Media Design Department, entitled “THREE APPARATUSES”.
The exhibition will be open from 7/3 to 7/14 (weekdays from 10:00-17:00), so be sure not to miss it.
After that, there will be more exhibits by artists from the Faculty of Design, so please look forward to them.
