90 Years of "The Shien or The Journal of History" now digitized and available online
All back issues of "Shien", Bulletin of The Faculty of Humanities, Kyushu University, have been digitized, and they are available in Kyushu University Institutional Repository (QIR).

"The Shien or The Journal of History" (『史淵』) was launched in 1929 as a journal of The Historical Society of Kyushu (九州史学会). Nowadays, it is published once a year as a bulletin of The Faculty of Humanities, Kyushu University. These back issues include many academic papers that have been stored throughout its long history, primarily related to history, geography, and archaeology.
With this project, we have released 703 items from No. 1 (1929) to No. 136 (1999) as back issues. A list of all 867 published articles from No. 137 to the latest issue is as follows:

In addition, the table of contents of the memorable first issue is as follows:
- 長沼賢海 (Naganuma, Kenkai): 「鐵砲の傳來に就いて」(On introduction of firearms into Japan)
- 中山平次郎 (Nakayama, Heijiro): 「九州に於ける銅鐸」(Dōtaku, or japanese ancient bell-shaped bronze vessel, in Kyushu)
- 玉泉大梁 (Tamaizumi, Tairyo): 「室町時代に於ける貨幣の流通状態」(Circulation of currency in Muromachi period)
- 重松俊章 (Shigematsu, Shunsho): 「支那古代の物價調節策について」(On price adjustment measures in ancient China)
For the project, we received supports from The Faculty of Humanities and the "School Work Study Program" in Kyushu University. We are continuing to work on the digitization of the back issues of the bulletins of "Annual of Philosophy" (『哲學年報』) and "Studies in Literature" (『文學研究』).
