Web

Kyushu University becomes an associate member of Japan Link Center (JaLC), and Kyushu University Library is now able to register DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) to contents of our institutional reporitory, QIR.

What's DOI?

A DOI is a persistent identifier assigned to an electronic contents on internet. Now many journal articles have their DOIs, and the number of DOIs in the world is more than 100 million. You can access the content itself by the URL, http://doi.org/ + DOI.

Example (DOI: 10.1021/cr980069d):

Benefits

  1. The URL http://doi.org/[DOI] becomes a permanent link to the content.
  2. A DOI name becomes a global symbol which identifies the content.

Format

DOI names we register are like:

  • 10.15017/suffix

where the "10.15017" part is the unique number to Kyushu University and the "suffix" part varies according to contents.
