Part III: Materials related to Chambers of Commerce and Industry throughout Japan and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Since their establishment in the Meiji era (1868-1912), chambers of commerce and chambers of commerce and industry have been at the center of local economies and have also functioned as information centers. This collection contains as much as possible of the materials that remain in Japan, including the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with a focus on serial publications such as monthly reports, annual reports, office reports, and reports issued by local chambers of commerce and chambers of industry from the mid-Meiji period through the wartime era of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It also includes materials from the National Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Kanto Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, a federation of regional chambers of commerce and industry. The collection is important not only as a basic resource for modern economic and business history, but also as a regional historical resource.
