Subscribing Journals with Your Budgets

※【COVID-19】Delivery delay and alternative service of printed journals※

Due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, some publishers pouse journal printing or print shipment.
Therefore, there is a possibility of delivery delay of printed journals.

As an alternative service when the printed journal is unavailable due to library closures or self-restraint, some publishers are temporarily extending online access for institutions who subscribe to in print.

The following is a summary of alternative services and delivery delay information by publisher.

Alternative service of printed journals

These journls are temporarily available online. You can use it for your own research and study at home.
The title and usage period are subject to change without notice.

Please note, due to COVID-19, dispatch of all the PRINT copies have been stopped.
We will start the dispatch once the situation is under control.

Cambridge University Press (CUP)

On March 25, CUP decided to halt all journal issue printing until further notice due to significant disruption to the global supply chain for the manufacture and distribution of printed journals.
E-journals are available and kept published as usual.

EMS Press

From March 27, EMS Press paused all print book and journal shipments. These will be shipped once the global situation becomes more stable.

Taylor & Francis

From April 10, Taylor & Francis paused all print journal shipments. These will be shipped once the global situation becomes more stable.

The operation of printing and delivery will resume in mid-May. E-journals are available and kept published as usual.

There is a possibility of delivery delay of printed journals.
UCP provides temporary extended online access to print-only journal subscriptions.

Domestic Journals

Faculty can apply for new subscription/unsubscription through the department staff.
If the person in charge is not present, please consult with the following office in your campus.

International Journals

Because the university subscribed journals are ordered in the package, the library does a subscription investigation at the university-wide once a year (around July) and accepts subscription/unsubscription applications of the next year(January-December).
We order to the publishers through the agencies around October. You cannot unsubscribe after order or during the contract period.
And irrespective of place of utilization, the institutional pricing is applied.

About Budget

The subscription is paid for a year or a multi-year period, so you should designate the budget which is annually allocated as a continued research expense.
Please note that sometimes we cannot accept the budgets such as external funds.

You can check your subscribed journals online. Moreover, as for domestic journals, you can apply for subscription/unsubscription online.

◆User Qualification

  • You have subscribed a journal through the library.
  • You have User ID and Password.

◆User ID and Password

  • Department office

→ Go to User Authentication  Login using “User ID for the subscription” issued by the library(omitting 0 at beginning).

If you lose User ID or want new User ID, please consult with the following office in your campus.

  • Faculty(personal)

Login using "Single Sign-On Kyushu university ID(SSO-KID)”.
If it is your first time, the subscription setting must be configured. Pease fill out the application form, and send it to the following office in your campus.
