Changes to the Article Processing Charge (APC) Support (Effective from September 2025)
Kyushu University Library has entered into "Transformative Agreements" with three publishers: Elsevier, Wiley, and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and provides support for article processing charges (APCs) for open access publishing.
Under this support scheme, authors can make their articles open access by bearing a portion of the APC costs.
We would like to inform you that the author’s share of the APC will be revised starting from September 1, 2025.
| Until August 31, 2025 Authors will bear 30% of the APC list price for eligible journals from the three publishers. |

| From September 1, 2025 Authors be required to pay a flat fee of 100,000 yen for eligible journals from the three publishers. |
※This change will apply to articles for which the library notifies the author of the APC amount on or after September 1, 2025.
Articles for which the library has already provided APC information before August 31 will remain under the previous scheme (30% of the APC list price).
Please note that this support program has been established based on survey results and usage data, with the aim of promoting open access through transformative agreements.
