The Seminar of Rare Materials in Kyushu University

The Seminar of Rare Materials in Kyushu University is a series of lectures primarily on the library's rare book collections. Lecturers from inside and outside the university are in charge of these seminars. The content and value of rare books, how Kyushu University came to have them in its collection, and examples of their use are introduced. The lectures were held 42 times from 2007.10 to 2011.3, while the relocation to Ito Campus started, and ended with the publication of "Kyushu University Treasures of a Century". It resumed in 2021 after the full opening of the Ito Campus Central Library in October 2018 and continue at a rate of about twice a year.
