Former collection of Professor Emeritus Yoichiro Shimada, donated to the Central Library in 2021.
The collection is related to modern and contemporary Japanese "songs" and includes a wide range of materials, from the songs themselves to the people who express them.

This collection mainly consists of the private collection of Nishida Kanjiro (西田幹治郎), a Han learning (漢学) scholar lived in Setaka, and 30% of the collection consists of the private collection of Yokochi Genbanosuke (横地玄蕃助), a confucianist served under the Yanagawa domain.
Former collection of Prof. Nishioka Kenji (西岡 健治) of Fukuoka Prefectural University, mainly of Korean classical literature. He was a part-time lecturer in Korean language and literature at Kyushu University from 1997 to 1998. This collection was transferred from the Research Center for Korean Studies to the Central Library, and completed the liquidation in 2023.
Books and documents donated by Prof. Okuda Hachiji(奥田 八二) about social sciences, especially, documents on labor campaign in Fukuoka in 60's-90's, and documents on local administration during Prof. Okuda's term as a governor.
