180 rare books on all aspects of 19th century American architecture. Included are Thomas Pope's Treatise on Bridge Architecture (published in 1811) and various research books from the mid-1890's concerning the first skyscrapers. Reference books (rarely preserved manuals and handbooks) also make up part of the collection and illustrate changes and developments in architectural design.
