Kanji Character-Japanese Dictionary (大漢和辞典), published by Taishukan Shoten, is a Chinese/Japanese dictionary containing 50,000 parent characters and 530,000 idioms, based on research from ancient and modern dictionaries and literature.
On-board 14 volumes (volumes 1-12, "addenda" to index volumes, and supplementary volumes)
Not only can you search by directly inputting a kanji, but you can also use searches by radical, stroke count, and reading, as well as part searches, which are useful when you don't know the reading or radical.
*There is no idiom search function equivalent to the "Vocabulary Index".
