Preface

This database contains information of materials on the history of the law of nation and "the constitution" in the 17-18 century. It also contains a picture of front pages and an index (only if the material has an index). The collection contains 512 titles of materials relating to the history of the law of nation and "the constitution" published in Europe in the 17-18 century. These materials are classified under three categories such as International Law, Regional Law (1.Europe, 2. Germany, 3. France, 4. England, 5.Scandinavia) and miscellanies. Since there are many materials under the heading "Germany" in the Regional Law category, "Germany" is divided into 7 categories by names of authors in alphabetical order. You can search for materials by title and by index.

We tentatively open this database on our homepage. Information about materials is not sufficient and you may find many spelling mistakes. You can see, however, further details on pictures of front pages.

We will complete entering all information about materials into the database by the end of March 1998. We also plan to picturize all pages of some specific materials.
