Some libraries of outside institutions require a letter of introduction for visiting.

Visiting Other Libraries
The following application form is available only when the library you visit requires a letter of introduction or an appointment through the Kyushu University Library.
You should specify the materials and fill sources of the holdings (URL etc.) in an application form.
Please apply at least 1-2weeks before the visiting date.
A letter of introduction to an overseas library is only to certify that you belong to Kyushu University. The letter also states that you would like to visit the library for research purposes, but it does not guarantee admission.
So, in the case of visiting overseas libraries (outside of Japan), please contact the library in advance and make an appointment by yourself.
